Located in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, our university marks its 51st year of establishment this year. As one of Western Japan's leading private comprehensive universities, it boasts three faculties—the Faculty of Arts and Design, the Faculty of Medical Sciences, and the Faculty of Human Sciences—with seven departments, a graduate school, a separate program for international students, and the affiliated Shimonoseki Nursing College. It enrolls 1,700 students, including 400 international students. Our university is guided by three educational principles: “Work hard for others and master your skills (the founding principle)”, “Be rooted in the community and look toward the world”, and “Meet friends and live with friends”.
